Find out what you need to do to get funding for your project

Ready to apply for funding? There are different steps to follow depending on how much your project will cost, and what you will be purchasing. Find out more below.

GRANT REQUESTS UNDER £5,000

IF YOUR ITEMS CAN BE PURCHASED USING THE TRUST'S PROCUREMENT SYSTEM, SBS ORACLE

Most items can be bought using the Trust’s procurement system, SBS Oracle, so most grants are awarded in this way.

  • First, find the SPF you would like to apply to, using our handy Find an SPF list.
  • Then, you will need to get Fund Adviser endorsement. For funding requests under £1,000, one Fund Adviser connected to the fund will need to endorse your application. For funding requests from £1,000 to £5,000, two Fund Advisers will need to endorse your application. If you already know the Fund Advisers of the SPF you are intending to apply to, you can contact them directly to see whether they can support your request. If you aren’t sure, please get in touch and we can let you know.
  • Once you have confirmed you have the necessary Fund Adviser support, you can complete our Small SPF Grant application form.

Small SPF Funding application form (under £5,000)

This is a short form, designed to make things quicker and easier for applicants making smaller funding requests.

The form needs to be signed by the relevant Fund Adviser(s). We can accept physical signatures, or we’re also happy to accept explicit endorsements for your project by email.

We accept funding requests under £5,000 on a rolling basis throughout the year. Email your completed form to us at Charity.Grants@stgeorges.nhs.uk. We aim to acknowledge any requests within 3 working days.

NB: If your application is for medical equipment, once you have emailed us your form we will contact Medical Physics and ask for their endorsement.

IF YOUR ITEMS CAN'T BE PURCHASED USING SBS ORACLE

We know there are some items that can't be purchased using SBS Oracle (such as travel, some training courses, some hospitality, etc). Where that is the case, you have the option of paying for the items upfront yourself, and claiming them back via our expenses portal.

  • First, check with the relevant Fund Adviser that your request for reimbursement will be approved. It must be in line with the purposes of the fund.
  • If your spending is approved, then you can make your purchase. Follow the instructions here to claim back your expenses.

If the item you wish to purchase is not available via SBS Oracle, and you are also unable to pay upfront and be reimbursed, please get in touch.

GRANT REQUESTS £5,000 AND OVER

Here are the steps you need to follow to apply for funding of £5,000 and over:

  • First, find the SPF you would like to apply to, using our handy Find an SPF list.
  • Then, you will need to get endorsement from two Fund Advisers connected to your chosen fund. If you aren’t sure, please get in touch and we can let you know.
