Being in hospital can be a very difficult time for everyone, but it’s especially hard for children and young people.  That’s why launched our Toy Appeal in September 2017 to provide each baby, child and teenager staying at St George’s Hospital with a gift - whether it was for Christmas, birthday or any other celebration.  We wanted to make their stay away from home a little easier.

Not only can toys, activities, materials and equipment help children to express themselves and have some fun, they can also provide preparation and distraction techniques and multi-sensory experiences to help relieve any anxieties and misconceptions. They are also helpful in reliving boredom and benefit recovery, recuperation and rehabilitation.

St George’s Hospital plays a key role in the lives of young people - and with five children’s wards, the neonatal unit covering more than 100 beds, and treating around 34,000 children a year, it’s always an incredibly busy time.  The role of St George’s Hospital Charity is to make the experience of being in hospital that little bit better.

Our Amazon wish list has now been updated with items for the central Play Room.  It’s extremely easy to use - access our wish list here and then simply click on the toy or gift you’d like to purchase. From there it will be donated and delivered straight to the charity.

If you wish to make a monetary donation this can be done by texting GEOR35 £5 to 70070.
