Job Summary

St George’s Hospital Charity supports this work, by:

  • Enhancing the physical environment of the hospital for patients, staff and visitors – refurbishment and building projects
  • Funding clinical research
  • Helping to fund state-of-the-art equipment
  • Supporting St George’s staff, through training and development.

Main duties and responsibilities  

  • Support the development of a legacy marketing and promotional activity plan with the Director and deliver the plan
  • Develop the SGHC messaging for giving through wills
  • Identify key audiences for the charity’s legacy message and work with the Marketing Manager to reach the audiences
  • To develop a supporter journey for legacy prospects
  • As appropriate, discuss the gift of a legacy with supporters and develop relationships with identified supporters to recruit new pledgers
  • Work with charity and hospital staff to create of the importance of the legacy message in communications
  • Further develop the objectives and KPIs relating to enquirers, intenders and pledgers and report on progress
  • Work with professionals in the field including solicitors, will-making firms, and legacy marketing organisations to promote the charity’s impact and encourage a greater understanding of the opportunities for supporting the St George’s family
  • To provide information as requested by individuals and to understand the boundaries between giving information and giving advice
  • Become an internal advocate for legacies within the charity
  • To keep accurate records of pledges and outstanding legacies
  • To keep abreast of relevant legislation relating to legacies and implications for both the organisation and donor
