Abseil Fundraiser Spotlight: 13-year-old Jacob Owusu

Jacob Owusu, 13 years old, is going over the edge in the St George’s Hospital Charity ‘Abseil for George’s’ this week and we hope you join us on giving him a virtual cheer!
Jacob was born at St George’s Hospital and recalls all the care his family have received and the reasons as to why he wants to fundraise to say thank you and give back.
Jacob said: "I have a younger brother who was cared for in the neonatal ward. My grandmothers have their health appointments at St George’s and my Great Auntie who recently passed away spent her last few weeks in hospital at St George’s."
Not only have his family been treated here but Jacob himself has been a frequent visitor to St George’s A&E having broken his arm over five times because of his love for football!
Jacob said: "My family and I have received amazing care from St George’s staff and I would like to show some thanks and appreciation to St George’s for how they have cared for me, my family and my friends because I think it’s amazing- thank you St George’s!"
At just 13 years old Jacob is descending one floor of the Pelican Hotel for every year of his age and he is looking forward to taking on the challenge. We hope you will join us in giving Jacob a virtual ‘cheer’ and donating to support his fundraising efforts.
