Celebrating the Power of Giving
08 May 2026
The event was an opportunity to reflect on everything we have achieved together over the past year and to celebrate the people who make it possible.
Addressing guests on the evening, Managing Director of St George’s Hospital, Kate Slemeck, spoke about the strength of the partnership between the hospital and the charity:
“Over the past year, the partnership between the hospital and the charity has helped us to do so much more for our patients, families and staff.
In 2025 alone, over £1.5 million was awarded in grants across our hospitals, with almost 400,000 people benefiting from the charity’s support.
That’s been through investing in our hospital spaces, our beautiful gardens here at St George’s, medical equipment, funding research… the list really does go on. And that is thanks to everyone in this room. So thank you.”
Throughout the evening, guests heard moving stories from fundraisers and supporters, while reflecting on the many projects, improvements and innovations made possible through charitable funding. From enhancing hospital environments and supporting pioneering research to investing in equipment and staff wellbeing, the evening highlighted the many ways your generosity helps create the best possible experience for patients, families and staff.
We were also treated to a wonderful performance from the St George’s Hospital Staff Arts Choir, led by Resident Artist Beth Hopkins. Their performance included an original song that made the evening even more memorable and perfectly captured the spirit of the celebration.
Most of all, the event was about celebrating you.
To everyone who donates, fundraises, volunteers, campaigns, takes part in events or supports us in any way – thank you. Your generosity, commitment and belief in our work help us do more every day for patients, families and staff across St George’s.
