Fundraiser Spotlight: Dylan Mulvey29 March 2022
For the Mulvey Family, St George’s Hospital has always been part of their story.
St George’s has helped welcomed numerous members of the Mulvey family into the world on its Maternity wards as well as providing excellent care and dignity to Dylan’s grandparents who both bravely battled with cancer.
Dylan said: “My Grandad was diagnosed with cancer in 2014 and lost his battle in January 2022. He was in and out of St George’s more times than we can remember since his diagnosis and always received fantastic care and treatment.”
Dylan loves rugby and plays for the locally renowned Battersea Ironsides – one of the country’s largest rugby clubs, a club with over 1000 children (u12) playing every week across the borough of Wandsworth, five senior men’s teams, 3 senior women’s teams, the Vets and the Youth Boys and Youth Girls teams (u12 – u18).
He fondly speaks of it being St George’s that will look after his teammates when injury occurs and Dylan himself has had to visit St George’s A&E a couple of times too!
He said: “I think you will agree that St George’s Hospital is a fantastic local resource and it has been a tough few years for everyone so it would be great if you could help me [Dylan] raise funds for this outstanding cause.”
