Fundraiser Spotlight: Keri Forbes
25 March 2022
The 13.1 mile run provides its participants with a very unique tour of some of London’s most favourite landmarks; starting on Pall Mall, weaving through the city to the unofficially named Walkie talkie, Gherkin and Cheese Grater skyscrapers before racing back along embankment to the finishing straight in Westminster.
Keri explained why she decided to take on this challenge with her friend:
“Acts of kindness like these, no matter how small, are always immensely appreciated and make someone’s day, so I am honoured to run to raise money for the Charity, to help keep up the good work they’ve been doing!
Some of the joys of a spring half marathon include training through winter and the change of seasons.
This year we were privy to some truly extraordinary storms which Keri recalls running in the extreme winds of Storm Eunice as a lower point in her training and put in a special weather request for the day:
“If the weather for race day could be not too warm, not too cold, not too windy and not raining, I would be very grateful’”
We couldn’t agree more with Keri!
Our cheer squad will be at Mile 12 on April 3rd ready to cheer Keri and our other incredible runners to the finish line!
