George Alderman wins ITV London’s Fundraiser of the Year Award
18 September 2025
This incredible recognition celebrates his outstanding fundraising efforts for local children’s charities.
George founded Jimmy’s Cuddle in October 2023 in honour of his son, Jimmy, who sadly passed away at just seven weeks old. The exceptional care Jimmy received at St George’s Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) inspired George to create the charity.
Speaking about his inspiration, George said:
“The aim was to support charities that meant a lot to us. I’m particularly passionate about raising money for St George’s Hospital Charity after Jimmy spend a few days there before he sadly died.
The work that everyone did at St George’s Hospital was absolutely amazing. From the consultants to the nurses, to the doctors, to the cleaners, to the porters. Everyone at the hospital was so supportive and did all they could for Jimmy and my family. Raising money feels like the least we can do after everything they did for us, and I’m happy to say that in the last year and a half, we’ve raised over £25,000. And we’re determined not to stop there!”

From charity cricket matches and pub quizzes, to running challenges like the Royal Parks Half Marathon, and even donating auction prizes for our Time for a Change Gala, George and the Jimmy’s Cuddle team have been relentless in their efforts. You can find out more about their upcoming events and follow their journey on their website.
As well as raising a phenomenal amount, George has also been a proud ambassador for transforming our children’s wards as a leading champion for the Time for a Change appeal, which will turn our wards into brighter, more welcoming spaces for young patients and their families.
We are so grateful to George for his tireless efforts, and to every supporter who has donated, fundraised, or cheered him on. We are beyond proud to see him recognised with this prestigious award and wish him all the best for the national awards next month.
