St George’s Hero Awards 2019

4th February 2019

Following the success of last year’s inaugural event, St George’s Hospital Charity are delighted to be once again hosting the St George’s Hero Awards on Thursday 16 May 2019.

The newly-named St George’s Hero Awards, previously known as the Staff Appreciation Awards, celebrate the outstanding achievements and excellence of staff working at St George’s Hospital, Queen Mary’s Hospital and our community healthcare services across south west London.

Supported by St Georges Hospital Charity, and kindly sponsored by Pelican London Hotel & Residence and Yellow Brick Group, the event promises to be an inspiring evening and a chance to recognise the exceptional individuals working at our Trust. Our host for the night will be TV presenter, and friend of St George’s, Lorraine Kelly who has previously been treated at St George’s after a horse riding accident.

Nominations for the awards open today, and Trust staff have got until Thursday 28 February to submit their nominations! The eight categories this year are: Team of the Year; Lifetime Achievement; Innovation of the Year; Unsung Hero; Rising Star; Inspirational Leader; Volunteer of the Year; and Lifesaver of the Year, which is open to a public vote. Nominations for Lifesaver of the Year will be open to a public vote on 25 March, and close on 8 April - we'll keep you updated on how to vote in the coming weeks!

Last year’s ceremony was one of the highlights of 2018, so we can't wait to celebrate again this May.
