Louise Bellamy joins our St George’s Hospital Charity team!

22nd January 2020

Louise is our Maternity Cover Major Gifts Manager at St George’s Hospital Charity.

Her role consists of cultivating high value individual and company relationships for the charity, and leading on arranging stewardship events throughout the year.

Louise says:

“My early employment was in the airline industry where I worked for 15 years.  One of my roles was as an Account Manager in the Corporate Sales team at American Airlines, negotiating global travel contracts with clients that included pharmaceutical companies and members of the entertainment industry.  I travelled extensively for both work and for pleasure.”

“I actually got into the charity sector as a consequence of my long history with St George’s Hospital. I gave birth to both my children at St George’s (now teenagers) and over the years my son has received treatment here for an ongoing condition. It was after he had a long stay on the Children’s wards in 2009 that my family and I decided to organise a fundraising event for St George’s Hospital Charity.  We raised £10,000 for the Nicholl’s play team and, as a result, the Head of Fundraising at SGHC gave me a reference when I secured a job at local charity the Wimbledon Guild.”

“After working for the Guild for 4 years, helping local people in need, I joined the Royal British Legion in their Special Events and Philanthropy team, cultivating and stewarding donors who had a connection with the charity and wanted to give more. I also worked behind the scenes at the Festival of Remembrance and fundraised on the London trading floors on London Poppy Day.

I saw the job come up at St George’s Hospital Charity and my close affinity with the hospital and the fact that I had contacts in the Paediatric department made me feel like it would be a perfect fit. I’m now delighted to be part of the team!”
