Supporting St George's staff observing Ramadan

19th May 2020

In collaboration with our volunteers at Covid Response, we have been able to support St. George’s Hospital staff who are observing Ramadan.

Through the care package initiative, we have created ‘Ramadan Care Packages’ to provide staff with something to take home after their busy shifts. This means that those who are fasting while working in these difficult conditions, have something ready for them when they finish work.

Volunteers at Covid Response havealso gone above and beyond to provide Iftars in our Wellbeing Hubs for NHS staff at St George’s. A huge thanks goes to all those who have donated via Covid Response and a special mention to both SGUL Islamic Society and British Airways Engineering Team.

Rozina Choudhury, founder of Covid Response said: ‘We know fasting must be extremely difficult in these circumstances, not to mention for staff who have to stay far away from family and friends and break their fasts alone. We hope this has made a small difference to them all.’

We look forward to celebrating Eid on Tuesday 26th with staff at St George’s Hospital.

Eid Murbarak!
