Charlie's 10,000 steps a day for St George's

20th July 2020

We are so proud of all our amazing fundraisers, who raise funds to say thank you to the incredible St George’s staff. You can join our Big Belated Bash, we're inviting everyone to get involved. Celebrate a missed occasion and say THANK YOU to the NHS for all their hard work. See how Charlie and Nicola got involved:

Charlie was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease by the hospitals gastroenterology team in December 2017 when he was 7 years old. In February 2018 he was so poorly he was admitted to the Fredrick Hewitt ward for a week. He now attends The Jungle ward every 4-8 weeks to receive intravenous medication to treat his Crohns. Every single member of the team we have met at St George’s from his IBD Consultant and Nurse to the staff throughout the whole children’s department have been so supportive and amazing and we wanted to give something back.

Charlie is therefore taking on 10,000 steps a day for the whole of July as he is turning 10 this month! He is over halfway through and has hit the mark (or above) every day so far and managed to raise an incredible £740 and counting.
