Spread the Love September Round Up!

30th September 2020

It has been great to #SpreadtheLove this September to our staff and communities through our social media campaign. One small nomination has gone a long way to thanking and appreciating staff at St George’s and Queen Mary’s Hospitals.

We were delighted to present 16 prizes to our amazing winners and give all our runners up and those nominated a special St George’s Hospital Charity goody bag to say well done!

We wanted to round up our winners and let you in on some of their reactions…

Week 1: Coronavirus Pandemic Heroes

  • Lainey Kelly
  • Helena Davison
  • Danny Witham
  • Helen Simmons

Lainey said “I have to say that Estelle’s kind words left me emotional and speechless (that’s rare), I’m so grateful for the kind prize. I’ve had so many mixed emotions over the last 6 months, all I wanted to do is get stuck in and help SGH, when it needed it most. I’m not sure when/if I’ll get to come back into SGH but that day can’t come quick enough.”

Week 2: Year of the Nurse and Midwife

  • Kylie Pattnaik
  • Gloria Green
  • Tammy Stracey
  • Maria Brown

Kylie, who received a total of 5 nominations, said “What a wonderful surprise! Thank you for all the lovely words in your nominations. I am thrilled to have been chosen as one of the winners. It's a huge privilege to support women and their families, and it's always great to hear how women feel about the care they received. It's heart-warming to know that so many women appreciate our efforts.”

Week 3: Community Champion

  • Dave Mauger- Tooting Newsie
  • Rachel Tween- Ronald McDonald House
  • Ellie Short- Chilli Bees Catering
  • Hicham and Jawad- Peabody’s Coffee

Rachel said “What a huge honour for me and my team to be recognised in this way. Working at Ronald McDonald House Charities is more of a passion than a job. We were heartbroken when the House had to close, due to Covid. I then contacted Jenni Doman to see what we could do to support. Supporting the Junior Doctors was a total pleasure, they are all amazing people. We are so proud to be working to support St Georges Hospital.”

Week 4: Unsung Hero

  • David Crane
  • Jacqueline Mendez
  • David Hill

Jacqueline said “Thank you for those glowing words.  It makes my job worthwhile, just knowing that others appreciate the work done by the Sewing Room. My thanks and appreciation to the St George’s Hospital Charity, for running “Spreading the Love this September”

We want to thank everyone who took the time to nominate someone this September and say a huge well done to all our winners and runners up- we think you are all amazing!
