Chris - Tour of Britain

6th November 2020

Chris Sole's life was saved by the amazing team at the Neuro Intensive Care Unit at St George’s Hospital following a cycling accident in September 2011.

9 years on, Chris has told us how much he missed being on his bike and therefore has set himself an incredible challenge, cycling the equivalent of the UK from his indoor bike at home to raise money for both St George’s Hospital Charity and The Silverlining Brain Injury Charity.

Chris will be taking on a huge 776.7 miles (1,250km) on his bike, touring what would be the whole of Britain. He will be completing the ride in 8 stages, which will take most of November and December!

Chris said “It is great to have my bike to keep me fit and healthy but also raise money to say thank you to the teams that saved my life. I am on Stage 1 so far and have completed 65.8KM. It is so nice that I am back cycling.”

All the team at St George’s Hospital Charity and the team in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit are cheering Chris on through virtual platforms every step (and pedal) of the way!
