Big Love. Big Laughs. heads online as comedians raise funds for local charities in memory of their sisters

20th November 2020

Tickets are now on sale for an online comedy show organised by comedians Jo Caulfield and Stephen K Amos, in aid of St George’s Hospital Charity in Tooting and Royal Trinity Hospice in Clapham.

Going live on the Comedy Store website from Friday 4 December, “Big Love. Big Laughs. Online.” will be the third time that the comics have come together with other big names on the comedy circuit to raise money for the charities through laughter. To date, Jo Caulfield and Stephen K Amos have hosted the events at the Comedy Store in London and have raised over £50,000.

The two local charities have a special connection to the comedians as they cared for their sisters, Annie Caulfield and Stella Keep, who were sadly lost to cancer. The Big Love. Big Laughs shows are held in their memory.

The show will feature hilarious performances recorded over the past two years of Big Love. Big Laughs, at the Comedy Store, including sets from Graham Norton, Kerry Godliman, John Bishop and Tom Allen. The live shows in 2018 and 2019 sold out in hours, so this online event is a great opportunity for those who missed out on tickets, to finally see the shows online, from anywhere in the world.

Jo Caulfield said: “I am so thrilled that despite Coronavirus restrictions we’ve been able put together a show to raise much needed funds- an amazing line up of comedy stars from two years of shows - Al Murray as Santa and Graham Norton doing stand up for the first time in 18 years!”

Anthony Davison, Director of Fundraising at Royal Trinity Hospice said: “We could all do with some light relief right now and what better way to raise funds for Trinity and St George’s Hospital charity than with a funny Friday night in? With the cancellation of so many of our planned fundraising events this year and now the second closure of our charity shops, it is harder than ever to fund our free palliative and end of life care which are so vital for patients and their loved ones. We’re so grateful to Jo and Stephen for arranging the third instalment of Big Love. Big Laughs. This year their support matters more than ever.”

Amerjit Chohan, CEO at St George’s Hospital Charity said: “We’re delighted that Jo Caulfield, Stephen K Amos and The Comedy Store are bringing back Big Love. Big Laughs. After a challenging year, it’s great that through the kindness of the all the comedians involved and of course The Comedy Store, we can bring some joy and laughter back into our lives."
