Leanne (and co) runs for George's PICU!

8th January 2021

We want to start off the year by giving a shout out to Leanne, an amazing fundraiser who has set herself the challenge of completing 8 runs around Brighton in a range of running gear, including scary Halloween costumes, unicorn outfits and our very own St George’s running vests!

Leanne is raising money to thank St George’s Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) for their great care of her daughter, Isla, when she was admitted when she was critically ill.
Leanne says, ‘Isla being admitted to PICU was by far the most difficult and worrying time…the dedicated team of Nurses, Doctors, Consultants and Paediatric Physiotherapists worked around the clock not only bringing Isla back to good health, but in supporting myself and her Daddy to have faith and understanding in what was happening. They were AMAZING!!! And I can’t think of a better way of thanking them than raising money so they can continue to support families and children when it is so needed.’ In particular, she wants to thank nurses, Devine, Theresa and Gareth for their amazing support during Isla’s stay.

They have raised £800 so far with a few runs still to go! Thank you to Leanne, Isla and their running crew for their amazing fundraising, it is hugely appreciated from all at St George’s.
