Aliyah takes to the skies for St George's!

20th January 2021

Fundraiser Aliyah is taking on a skydive for St George’s in order to raise money for our Covid Appeal.

After Aliyah, who currently studies physiotherapy at St George’s University and is nearby to the hospital, saw the BBC news coverage of staff in the hospital and St George’s Hospital Charity’s callouts for people to help raise money, she knew that she had to get involved to make a difference! Aliyah wanted to do something that would help both current staff and those who will continue working for the NHS in future years, as well as patients.

This brings us to her skydive. Aliyah said:, ‘Seeing the effects of Covid-19, I knew I had to do something to help staff and patients at St George's. I have always wanted to do a skydive, as it is something that will get me out of my comfort zone! For a long time I have been debating doing one as I wasn’t sure if it would be something I would enjoy. Due to the pandemic and restrictions it has made me realise that I need to stop putting it off and do it as there is no time to waste! Therefore, I will be doing it this year to mark my 21st birthday!’

So far, Aliyah has been raising money through social media, family & friends mainly, and has already raised £340 in a matter of days! She has a £1,000 target so visit her fundraising page to show your support here.
