Project Highlight: NHS CT x SGHC - Croydon Project

Thanks to a generous grant from NHS Charities Together, St George’s Hospital Charity were selected to manage the Community Partnership Grants, as the lead charity on behalf of South West London.

One Trust we are proud to be supporting is One Croydon Alliance, who have received funding to deliver a one-year project, which seeks to build and support voluntary sector capacity, reduce social isolation and improve mental health outcomes.
This exciting and ambitious projects has five strands,

1. One Croydon Programme Management Office in partnership with Croydon Voluntary Action, will build capacity in the voluntary sector by creating a sustainable model to increase and engage volunteers in the Intergrated Community Network Plus localities.

2. Family Link Workers -  Will aid in reducing social isolation of parent carers through running support groups and training, facilitating peer support, strengthening the parental and family resilience as well as offering accesses to welfare rights advice.

3. Mental Health triage and counselling services will be provided to young people between the ages of 16-24, who are at risk of or are homeless.

4. Croydon Health Service will provide support for Children bereaved by Covid-19, to cope with grief using drama therapy as part of the new paediatric integrated unit at Croydon University Hospital.

5. Family Guides will be provided by the Asian Resource Centre to aid in coaching communities at high risk of COVID
