Huge thanks to workforce on local construction site for their donation!

24th June 2021

We're so grateful for a donation of £20,000 from the construction workers and contractors located local to St George’s Hospital.

In an effort to maintain the safety of the entire workforce during the ongoing threat of Coronavirus, the project decided that it would not be possible to host the traditional Christmas dinners for all site operatives and staff.

In lieu of this, at the monthly Workforce consultation meeting the operatives suggested and agreed unanimously that they would like to donate the equivalent cost of hosting the Christmas dinners to St George’s Hospital Charity, Thank You Appeal to enhance the welfare of NHS frontline staff. They said “We would like to make this donation to show our support and appreciation to the NHS frontline staff who have been working so hard to fight the virus and save lives during the difficult time.”

The donation to our Thank You Appeal means we can continue to support NHS staff and ensure the most urgent needs of the hospitals are addressed quickly.

Sarah McCullough, Director of Fundraising at St George’s Hospital Charity said: "St. George's Hospital Charity would very much like to thank the entire workforce for the generous donation and warm messages of thanks and appreciation for our amazing NHS staff who have been working tirelessly through the Covid Pandemic. Donations like this help the charity to provide additional spaces and facilities for NHS staff to rest and relax, create and maintain green spaces across the hospitals for staff and patients to enjoy, and support staff wellbeing across the hospital”.
