We treat the hospital community to live music once more!

24th June 2021

Over the past two weeks the Arts Team at St George’s Hospital Charity have been delighted to share live music on site for the first time in 15 months!

Stationed outside the St George’s Hospital Vaccine Clinic, last week took on a jazz theme as we welcomed guitarist Ant Law, pianist Sam Leak and double bass player Huw Williams. This week we treated visitors to Atkinson Morley Wing to music from harpist Catrin Meek performing both classical and pop tunes.

It has been fantastic to see such enthusiasm for the music and we received very positive feedback from patients and staff alike:

“The harp was beautiful and eased my nerves coming in, being someone who is very afraid of needles”

“It was such a lovely surprise to have live music while I waited for my vaccine. I felt the two musicians put everyone in a more positive frame of mind and it really made my day.”

“It was a real joy to hear live music today - and great cheerful sunny music - thank you!!”

We hope you’ll be seeing more of our talented musicians and artists around the site over the coming weeks and months, so please watch (and listen to) this space!
