NHS Big Tea Round Up!

12th July 2021

It’s been 1 week since the incredible #NHSBigTea and we wanted to round up all the amazing  celebrations and fundraising that happened throughout last week and say thank you to all those who got involved!

Our highlights include:

The Lanesborough Hotel
In honour of Thank You Day, The Lanesborough Hotel lit up blue to say thank you to the dedicated staff at St George’s.

Featuring on Lorraine
The lovely Lorraine Kelly and her team hosted a makeover segment on Friday morning’s show (2nd July) in the Wellbeing Garden, which Lorraine opened for us last year. As part of celebrations for Thank You Day and the NHS 73rd Birthday one of our St George’s nurses, Lady T, was put forward by the charity to receive a makeover, which she was delighted with.

NHS Big Tea Parties
A whole host of teams from across St George’s, Queen Mary’s and St John’s Therapy Centre got together with their departments to host tea parties and celebrate the NHS 73rd Birthday. A big shout out to all those teams who also fundraised by hosting bake sales, having a collection tin or holding a raffle.

Ingredients Restaurant Afternoon Tea Delights
Thank you to Ingredients Restaurant who added a special afternoon tea selection to their menu for the day with all proceeds going to support St George’s Hospital Charity.

Peabody’s Bottomless Cream Tea
The St George’s Hospital Charity team were delighted to be in attendance at the Peabody’s Cream Tea where 100% of profits were coming back to support St George’s Hospital Charity. It was delicious!

NHS Big Tea Raffle
Thank you to the incredible volunteers in our Staff Wellbeing Hub who hosted a raffle in support of St George’s Hospital Charity. There were so many amazing prizes on offer with the main prize being an incredible cake baked and donated by St George’s Hospital Charity staff member, Rose.

And finally a big thank you to all those companies, community groups and individual bakers who donated cakes and sweet treats which meant we were able to supply all the teams taking part with treats to eat- they certainly deserved it!

We are still counting the final total but so far we have raised over £4,600!

We hope you all enjoyed the celebrations as much as we did and raised a cuppa to our wonderful teams at St George’s Trust!
