Father and son team complete rowing marathon and donate £6.5k towards neurosurgery

13th July 2021

A huge thank you to our incredible fundraisers, Darryl and David Hughes, who have donated £6,500 in memory of their wife and mother Alison, who sadly passed away in December 2020.

Their donation matches fundraising from a sponsored row for Princess Alice Hospice, with father and son completing a whopping marathon and a half (63.3kms) between them!

Their generosity supports St George's Hospital Charity's Neurosurgery Research Fund, which funds equipment for brain surgery. David and his wife Sadie also welcomed baby Elsie to the world in June, praising the amazing care they received from the maternity team at St George's Hospital.
