With 2021 coming to a close we want to highlight some of the things we've managed to do thanks to your support.

Thanks to your incredible fundraising and donations we were able to fund some amazing things this year, including...

new wellbeing space for staff in the Ingredients Restaurant, designed by award winning interior design studio Hart Miller.

The refurbished space, which was also funded by St George's Trust and funds from NHS Charities Together, provides a comfortable and light filled area in which staff can relax. The design features new contemporary furniture, planters that bring the outside in, and modern screens that create a sense of privacy.

We funded the Staff Bicycle User Group, with the funds going towards buying necessary equipment such as bike locks and helmets that will be placed in kit stores across both St George’s in Tooting and Queen Mary’s Hospital for members of BUG to access.

Wudu Wash Facilities for both female and male Muslim faith members, for use by St George's Trust staff and the public, thanks to the incredible community who came together, donated and fundraised over £16,000 enabling this project and other improvements to the Prayer Facilities to go ahead.

We were also able give a grant to the BAME Network to help fund activities for Black History Month, as well as Diwali, Chinese New Year, World Cultural Diversity Day and Eid.

Thanks to your donations we were able to continuously fund important projects such as the essential Play service at St George’s Trust.

In 2020 there was a lot of focus on supporting supporting staff working directly with Covid patients and in our Intensive Care Units, however we recognised the importance of supporting the wider organisation whilst they were also battling with the effects of the pandemic.

As part of this were able to fund two pieces of equipment for the Haematology department thanks to our generous supporters.

2021 also saw St George's Hospital Charity collaborate with the Trust and a host of other organisations on a number of projects...

The hugely popular 'Lunch On Us' as part of Thank you George's saw the Charity team up with the Trust to help fund a free lunch for staff at St George's and Queen Mary's - with Art St George's providing musical entertainment for staff.

In February Arts St George’s organised the Portraits to a Life of Dedication outdoor exhibition in partnership with St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Following the positive reaction and success of the outdoor exhibition, a new gallery featuring 132 portraits is now on display on the ground floor of the Lanesborough Wing, as part of the Trust’s Thank You George’s season.

In October we were delighted to support the new Maternity Memorial Garden at St George’s Hospital which was opened by Her Royal Highness Princess Michael of Kent.

As always, we continued to support the hardworking St George's staff over the Christmas period...

We rounded the year off with the return of the Christmas lights outside of the Main Entrance at the Grosvenor Wing, which were officially turned on with a performance from our Staff Arts Club Choir - with refreshments provided by Peabody's.

To treat the hardworking St George's staff working over the festive period we funded Christmas On Us. Staff working Christmas Day were given a free Christmas lunch, those working on New Year's Eve are receiving free pizza, and those working on New Year's Day will receive a free breakfast.
