Our Arts Team have launched monthly Creative Resource Collection Stations!

In response to the increasing enthusiasm for these items, the team have launched a new initiative: ‘Creative Resource Collection Stations’.
Each month, Arts St George’s set up outside the St George’s Hospital Charity office in the Grosvenor Wing entrance, equipped with all sorts of creative goodies for staff or visitors to collect for patients on their wards. Each month we aim to bring a new item to the mix, with the support of our partners and artists.

In December, we shared festive activity packs, designed and illustrated by artist Francesca Tiley. In January, we received a generous supply of ‘Write Together’ packs, courtesy of Battersea Arts Centre (supported by Battersea United Charities).
The writing sets contained beautifully illustrated prompt-postcards – participating patients (including young people undergoing dialysis and pupils at the hospital school) were invited to respond to these and send back to Battersea Arts Centre, as a post-swap with others in the Wandsworth community.
Later this month, we’re delighted to be sharing bespoke creative packs put together by Bounce Theatre’s young people’s group.
Louise Pendry, Artistic Director of Bounce Theatre noted:
"For the past six months, Bounce has been working with young people to uncover some of the heritage of Tooting High Street. Learning about St George's arrival has been an integral part of thinking how the High Street would have changed.
"It's therefore fitting to be able to include the hospital in the project. We are delighted to share a pack of ideas made with young people for patients and staff to join in."
Containing a range of different activities, from pop-quizzes to spot-the-difference scenes of our local area, the packs a nostalgic and creative exploration of our local area.
We’ll be continuing to run this initiative in the coming months, so if you are on site, looking for something creative to do, or to share with a patient, please come down and see us. (We love meeting you too!)
The next station will be run on Tuesday 8th February from 2-4pm.
