Following a tragic accident at home, Dylan Davies was airlifted to St George’s Hospital, where he was admitted to the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit. He received unparalleled care from our dedicated team of whom his family are so grateful to. Sadly, Dylan passed away on Tuesday 11 July. 

Dylan's mum, Charlotte, said: “The care we received the time we were in the PICU and since, has been phenomenal, and we honestly can't thank you enough. You are all heroes in our eyes. Every member of staff that cared for Dylan was amazing, but Millie, Estelle, Sherly, Dr Steph and Tina - you are angels and the trust is lucky to have you.”

In honour of Dyaln’s memory, his family and friends set out to raise funds to support the Time for a Change Children’s Appeal, raising money to improve the environment on both the PICU and our children’s wards. 

Dylans Stepfather, Phil Tong, said: “In true Dylan fashion of helping people, we’ve raised money to say thank you to the staff on the PICU in Dylan’s name, so that he is able to help more people in the future.”

They initially put the target at £500, but the donations kept coming and the final total raised stands at an incredible £15,050! 

Charlotte said: “Dylan was a little bit of an ‘extra’ kid, so it makes sense that there’s £50 extra there!”

Nick Prince, Consultant on PICU whom helped care for Dylan said “We are incredibly grateful to Dylan’s family for giving back to support the PICU. Its an incredible amount raised and is going to make a huge difference for patients, their families and the staff working on the PICU.”

Charlotte and her family returned to St George’s to present their donation and meet the team to thank them in person. Their support is going to make a huge difference to patients, their families at the staff at St George’s.
