03 October 2024
“Our biggest ever event will celebrate the incredible teams and individuals who go above and beyond for our patients,” said Jacqueline. “I’m excited to read the nominations and to celebrate all those shortlisted.”
The gesh CARE Awards, set for 10 December at The Kia Oval, will celebrate outstanding care, highlight staff achievements, and recognise the unwavering dedication of all 17,000 employees across the group’s hospital and community services. Every member is eligible for nomination – from frontline clinicians to essential support staff, Including our cleaners, caterers and estates teams.
Most categories will be nominated by colleagues, but the Outstanding CARE Award will be open to public nominations, honouring staff and teams who have gone above and beyond to give outstanding care and treatment.
As the official charities of their respective trusts, St George’s Hospital Charity and Epsom and St Helier Hospitals Charity provide extra support to our hospitals, over and above what the NHS can deliver on its own - from improving hospital facilities to purchasing advanced medical equipment and supporting staff through wellbeing initiatives. This grant is just one of the ways both charities will be supporting our incredible staff this year.
Katy Vaughan, CEO of St George’s Hospital Charity, added: “We are proud to support the recognition of our incredible NHS staff and look forward to an unforgettable evening with all involved.”
The gesh CARE awards have also been made possible by the generous support of the Pelican London Hotel & Residence in Tooting, which is part of the Yellow Brick Group. Their CEO and Chairman, Johnathan Kol-Bar, is deeply committed to supporting the NHS.Johnathan said: “We are delighted to be Headline Sponsors of the gesh CARE awards 2024. Located within the grounds of St George’s Hospital, we consider ourselves to be part of the wider hospital community. We feel passionately about thanking the hard-working NHS staff who consistently demonstrate commitment and dedication in caring for their patients.”
“My late mother was shown incredible kindness and respect as an evacuee during the holocaust in the Second World War in Europe, and it is these same qualities I see demonstrated across the hospitals. I support these awards in her memory and look forward to hearing the inspiring and uplifting stories of our NHS staff celebrated on the night.”
Additional sponsors of this event include Hanevo and Keystream Group, who have sponsored award categories celebrating innovation in NHS treatments, value for money and the care of long-term health conditions.
It's the generosity of our communities that allows us to support our NHS staff. By supporting your local hospital, you're making a difference in your community- helping your friends, family, and neighbours. We're proud to be part of a community that cares for one another- thank you.
