As part of Volunteers Week 2020 we have been catching up with some of our volunteers about why they got involved. We hope you will join us in taking the time to say a big thank you to all those who have offered up their time to support St George’s Hospital Charity, we are so grateful to each and every one of you.

Today, we meet Trixie Robert who has been volunteering for just over 2 years. Trixie is one of our Fundraising Office Volunteers who comes in once a week to support the Fundraising Team.

She does a range of different tasks including helping thank our donors, distributing posters across the hospital, organising our promotional materials, supporting on stalls and so much more.

We asked Trixie why do you volunteer?

‘I volunteer because I hope it can help such a good cause and it gives me something to do in my retirement years.’

And why did you choose to support St George’s Hospital Charity in particular?

‘I chose this charity because I had several finger joint replacements done at the hospital and they were all such lovely people that I asked if I could do anything to help’

And finally, what is the most rewarding part of volunteering for you?

‘Most things but meeting such kind people and friendly staff and hoping that what I do helps the hospital.’
