Volunteers Week Spotlight: Trixie Roberts
01 June 2023
We have volunteers that support our fundraising activities, our events and with administrative tasks within the office. We couldn’t fulfil our mission without them. One such volunteer is Trixie Roberts, a compassionate individual who discovered the power of giving back through her own personal journey. Trixie's journey with St George's Hospital Charity began unexpectedly. After undergoing a surgery to replace joints in her fingers, Trixie felt immense gratitude for the exceptional care she received. This profound appreciation led her to seek an opportunity to express her gratitude and give back to the hospital that had supported her.
Trixie began providing a helping hand in the charity office back in February 2018 and hasn’t looked back since. She has supported a wide range of activities including table sales, bucket shaking, wrapping presents for children and so much more. Additionally, she has also assisted at many fundraising events including abseils, park runs and cheering on fundraisers in all weathers!
Whilst Trixie’s support is so impactful, for Trixie she has really enjoyed the connections she has forged along the way. Through her volunteering, she has met fellow volunteers, hospital staff, patients and their families and had many wonderful conversations.
We couldn’t be more grateful to Trixie and all our volunteers who support us and want to take the opportunity this volunteer’s week to say a huge thank you.
