Nominations are now open for the NHS Parliamentary Awards in July, and you can have your say through your local MP.

At St George’s Hospital Charity, we want to champion our NHS Heroes. Over the past two years staff across St George’s Trust have worked incredibly hard and continue to do so under an unprecedented amount of pressure.

They are literally pulling out all of the stops ensuring they can provide the very best of care. You have a chance to say thank you and show them you care by sending a message of thanks!

Don’t just tell your us how amazing the staff at St George’s are through leaving a message of thanks, tell your local MP to nominate them, or St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, in the NHS Parliamentary Awards.

What is the NHS Parliamentary Awards?

The NHS Parliamentary Awards, which is now it its fifth year, was established to celebrate the NHS’s 70^th birthday in 2018 and was founded to recognise the contribution of those working and volunteering in the health and care sector.

Staff, volunteers, and organisations are nominated through MPs in several categories:

• The COVID-19 Response Award – New for 2022
• The Excellence in Healthcare Award
• The Excellence in Mental Health Care Award
• The Excellence in Urgent and Emergency Care Award
• The Excellence in Primary Care and Community Care Award
• The Future NHS Award
• The Health Equalities Award
• The Nursing and Midwifery Award
• NHS Rising Star
• The Lifetime Achievement Award

Nominations opened on Wednesday 2^nd March and will close at midnight on Wednesday 6^th April, each nomination will be entered into a three-round of judging process; nominations will initially be sent to relevant NHS England and NHS Improvement teams, from there successful nominations will be sent to a regional panel of senior regional NHS England and NHS Improvement representatives.

The regional panels will select the regional champions in each category to be announced on Monday 13^th June, the regional champions will also be invited to the national awards ceremony in Westminster where the winners will be named.

The NHS Parliamentary National Awards Ceremony will be held at One Great George Street in Westminster, London on Wednesday 6^th July.
