Art Collection
Our art collection features more than 800 works of art located around St George’s Hospital. The artworks are displayed in public areas, waiting rooms and clinical areas, enhancing the quality of the hospital environment by creating spaces that are engaging, welcoming and compassionate.
The collection contains paintings, drawings, photographs, sculptures, prints and textiles dating from the establishment of St George’s in the 18th Century to the present day. Helen Chadwick, Edward Bawden, Damien Hirst, Lubna Chowdhary, Terry Frost and Laura Ford are among some of the leading artists represented in the collection.
We collect and commission new works often as part of refurbishment and redevelopment projects, helping to ensure that the hospital estate and buildings are attractive places to work and visit.
