Key overview – what you need to know

  1. Safeguarding the welfare of people who come into contact with us is of the utmost importance, subsequently this policy applies to all levels within the Charity, including Trustees, employees, volunteers, workers and subcontractors, emphasizing the collective responsibility to safeguard and protect vulnerable individuals.
  2. It is crucial to prevent and report any form of abuse, neglect, harassment, or discrimination, and all concerns must be documented and reported to the Designated Safeguarding Officer.
  3. Trustees, staff, and volunteers are required to undergo basic safeguarding training as part of their induction to help them understand and identify risks and concerns, in addition to ensuring awareness of the reporting procedures.
  4. We are committed to safe recruitment practices, ensuring no individual barred from working with vulnerable groups is appointed, backed by relevant DBS checks.
