We're raising £5 million to transform the Nicholls and Pinckney children's wards at St George's Hospital.

Every year, these wards support 4,000 children and young people aged 0-18. Our vision is to create bright and colourful spaces on our wards that match the world-class care our hardworking NHS staff provide.

We will create brighter, more welcoming, age-appropriate environments for young patients. There will be new play areas, family spaces and washrooms to make hospital stays a little more comfortable for children and their families.  Watch our video to find out more.

To date we have raised £3.6m, can you help us reach our target?

TRANSFORMING THE CHILDREN'S WARD

The need for transformation

Miles Herne, recently shared his powerful story of being treated on Nicholls Ward as a teenager and how that experience has motivated him to raise over £80,000 for our appeal.

“I spent weeks in intensive care and on Nicholls Ward. The care I received saved my life – but the facilities made it harder. No en-suites, no therapy rooms, no space for my parents to rest,”

"We need to match outstanding care with an environment the staff can be proud of. That’s what Time for a Change appeal is all about.”

Donations to St George’s Hospital Charity are processed securely by Blackbaud, find out more about how your details are secured here.

The Charity aims to raise £5m in support of transforming children’s services at St George’s Hospital. The joint intention of the Trust and the Charity is that funds generated by the Charity will contribute to the refurbishment of Nicholls and Pinckney wards. Through this Appeal, there is a small chance that we will raise more money than we need. If this happens, or if for any unforeseen reason we are unable to proceed as originally intended with the projects outlined, gifts will be used to support other projects that benefit children’s services.
