Empowering staff to build a healthier tomorrow for our community
We provide grants that empower the incredible staff at St George’s Hospital and Queen Mary's Hospital to identify needs and create real solutions on the ground.
Projects we have funded
A charity grant funded a new suite of portable radios for the site team to improve bed management. This has eliminated delays in turnover caused by staff needing to walk to each ward to confirm if a bed was vacant, reducing the average bed turnaround time from 624 minutes to 10-30 minutes! The time between a bed being requested to one being allocated is also now 10 times quicker than what is used to be!
All these improvements have enabled staff to free up an entire ward to keep on standby whenever its needed and reduce the time it takes to discharge a patient.
We funded the GESH Care Awards to celebrate the incredible work of our staff across all of our hospitals. Hosted by Myleene Klass, the awards saw 400 attendees come together to recognise 36 nominees and 12 category winners who go above and beyond to deliver the best possible care for patients.
The night was a huge success, with 94% of attendees saying it was extremely important in making staff feel valued, and the event having a noticeable impact on the number of staff feeling engaged and recognised.

No idea is too big or small. If it could improve the lives of our patients, their families or our staff, we'd love to hear about it.
