Jacob Ahmadzai - Running to recovery

After being diagnosed with throat cancer for a second time, Jacob underwent partial layrngectomy surgery at St George's. After the first few months of challenging rehabilitation (including learning how to swallow liquids and solids again) Jacob has taken up running. So far he has completed a 10km and half marathon with funds raised going to St George's Hospital Charity.

Jacob's next target is another half marathon later this year to continue fundraising for St George's ENT Department.

Jacob said "I really want to give something back to St George's after all the treatment and support provided by a multitude of medical teams. My excellent recovery and resolve is largely thanks to some amazing care, the incredible support of family, friends and colleagues"

You can read more of Jacob's story and keep up to date on his fundraising activities by reading his blog or visiting his online fundraising page.
